In 2014 Terminatryx was approached by Simone, daughter of legendary (and tragic) South African poet Ingrid Jonker, to adapt one of her mother's poems for a mammoth double album compilation of various artists paying tribute to her immortal words (which, since the mid-1950s made an impact across cultures, even while written in Afrikaans).
Titled "Die Kind Is Nog Jonger" (The Child Is Still Younger), the tribute was put together to commemorate 50 years since Ingrid Jonker's untimely death (committing suicide by walking into the ocean at Three Anchor Bay, very close to Sonja and Paul's home).
Terminatryx chose to adapt "Ontvlugting" (Escape), and created a passionate song with a somber undertone.
It reveals a different side to Terminatryx, but the band's sound, identity and mood remain present.
(While perceived as a touch milder than expected, it is still filled with impact as it drives towards its climax).
This also marks the third Afrikaans song recorded by Terminatryx.
Even with a host of high profile artists involved, they struggled to get it released. Terminatryx co-founder Paul stepped in, set up a crowd funding campaign and released it in 2016 under his Flamedrop Productions flag (on double CD, limited edition vinyl LP and digital download).
